Our 2023 Fashions on the Field Theme is Spring Blooms!

Think all things spring. Colour and the new blooms for the change of season brings.

Whether your style is classic or contemporary, our judges are looking for a Spring race day standout.

Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing's Fashions On The Field competitions celebrate the tradition of trackside style, contemporary trends, joyful millinery, and head-to-toe coordinated style and grooming.

Contestants enter from far afield and there is much attention to the competition both at the race events and on social media.

We have categories for women and men and couples, and there may be special categories particular to some feature race days.

Contestants are judged on their interpretation of the category and seasonal racing standards, including:

Style and originality
Concept of design co-ordination
Standard and appropriateness for the climate and season
Attention to detail with accessorising
Seasonally appropriate millinery
Grooming and deportment
